Ten Million Dollar Prize at Stake

Do you believe in big foot? Three local residents have put a lot on the line to convince you that the legendary creature is genuine, and they have found him close to home near Deep Creek Lake in Western Maryland. Susan Storz, Leslie Rubin and Ben Passmore were named this week as finalists in Discovery Communication's "Ten Million Dollar Bigfoot Challenge with Frank Langella." The trio appeared on Monday with other finalists from as far afield as Japan and Estonia. They previewed one of the videos that they provided to the program and even the other Bigfoot hunters were visibly impressed. Hojiko Mifume, another finalist, stated "if real, this is the best proof I have seen."

Big foot Live? The video provided Monday.

Storz, the team geneticist, told the assembled press,  "It all started as a bit of a joke, my work had brought me into contact with the Bigfoot community and though I had to debunk much of their evidence I was intrigued. Then I heard that Ben had tracked big foot legends all over the west as part of his anthropology training. It seemed like a natural fit."

Rubin, listed as a professional adventurer, added, "and I have repeatedly mistaken my husband for Bigfoot."  The group and press laughed easily at the joke, but the evidence is no laughing matter. The team has provided Discovery with multiple game camera videos, and far more impressively with hair samples from the purported monster. The results of the genetic testing of these samples will be revealed during the program's April 27th airing, but all three on the Maryland team promise that the results are going to rock the scientific community.

Discovery's "Ten Million Dollar Big Foot Challenge" premieres April 13th at 9 on Discovery 2, and you can read more and see the videos on the Bigfoot Revealed blog.
